Pre-trip reflection

In this 7 days, 6 nights trip to Shanghai, I hope to learn more about China, in a different perspective. Usually when I go to China I also had not give much thought. I wish to notice more about these differences between Singapore and China, not to notice how different they appear but also learn about the difference in their lifestyle and system. I hope to see it for myself and I would like to question my buddy how she thinks of Shanghai and share my thoughts about Singapore. I hope to really gain as much as possible and enjoy myself at these paces in Shanghai not matter how boring it may seem and remember to take note of some things we learnt in our CID lessons. I hope our class can take these trip to foster stronger relationships and have more responsibility out of Singapore. I hope to also be more independent and know more about the world outside Singapore more while on the trip. Learning to appreciate all we have and learn from others.

Pre-Trip Reflection

This is my second time going to Shanghai. The first time I went there is when I was very young so I do not have much memory about it. So what do I hope to learn? I hope to learn the comparative studies about Shanghai and Singapore, like comparing between both of them in the areas of economics, education and culture. These things are also things that we must know and always have to be kept in mind of during the whole trip. Some questions that I would have about Shanghai is that, how is the weather quality there? Is it as good as Chongqing, or as polluted as Beijing. Also, another question is that from what time to what time are the students there studying and is there studying and examination system the same as the ones in Singapore? I really look forward to going to the school and talking to my buddy and her friends because it has been a long long time since I have been studying in China again. I really hope that my class would be more bonded as we would get to take care of each other when we are in Shanghai and that soon, maybe we will realize how good is our class as compared to the China's class.
Hence, I really think that I would enjoy this trip with my best friend and my classmates. So I really look forward about going to Shanghai.

Pre-trip Reflection

This is my first time to Shanghai I think this will surely be an intersting and completely new experience to me, I hope I can understand this place more in depth. From this trip to Shanghai, I would like to find out more about Shanghai in three different ways, economic, history and education and tried to compare it to Singapore, see what we can learn and improve from and see where Shanghai is lacking. And as Shanghai is a quite prosperous and successful city in China, I also understand that this city alone cannot represent the whole of China's condition as there are many parts of China still undiscovered by us, so I shall not see Shanghai as a whole China. I am from Chengdu, China, thus, I would like to see how Shanghai is different from Chengdu.
Also, I have some questions that I would like to find out, through research, I understand that their academic results are among the top so I am curious how their education system works, their way of teaching. Also, their cost of living and see how they cope with such a high cost.
I know that if I wanted to understand this city more in depth, I should find out more about its history as everything starts from there. The places we are visiting include: Zhujiajiao, shikumen, Shanghai world financial center and many more. These are the places that can represent Shanghai as it displayed Shanghai's past (zhujiajiao), present(Shanghai world financial center) and future(Shanghai urban planning exhibition hall). We are going to Shanghai's world financial center which is about the same height as the dongfangmeizhu beside it. I would like to enjoy the beautiful scenery in Shanghai and see Shanghai in 360 degree.
As a class, I hope we can be more united and bonded through this session as we are going to spend 7 days together. This surely will be a enriching experience for all.

Pre-trip reflection

This trip to Shanghai will definitely be an eye-opening experience for me as I had never gone there before. I am extremely excited about this trip and I hope to learn more about the history of Shanghai like why it has became the global magnet. Most importantly, I would to find out how the students in Shanghai can cope with their studies even though they might be very stressful as I know the schools there focus a lot on academic. I think I will also have deeper understanding of their culture and heritage as our class is going to Zhujiajiao Ancient Town and many museums.
Besides that, I hope to learn more about the differences in cost of living between Shanghai and Singapore. For example like why the things in Shanghai are cheaper than the things in Singapore.
Lastly, I hope our class can be more bonded, more cooperative after this trip. I guarantee that this trip will give us a good memory.
